On Fluw, the driver keeps what they earn and riders pay less than anywhere else. No middleman taking a cut from both sides. Just a straightforward, honest transaction between two people.
How It Works
Fluw connects riders and drivers directly — no platform taking a cut from every fare.
Open Fluw, enter your destination, and every nearby driver appears with their price, ETA and rating. Pick the one you want — you see the full fare before you confirm.
Set your own rates, go online, and keep every dollar the rider pays. Zero commission. Payouts hit your bank via Stripe.
Fluw is the infrastructure — not the middleman. A flat subscription replaces commission, so riders pay less and drivers earn more.
Hardworking drivers deserve to keep what they earn. Fluw replaces the industry's hidden commission model with a simple flat subscription. You set your own rates. You keep every dollar riders pay you. No surprises, no algorithm deciding your worth.
Why Fluw
No commission. No percentage taken. Every dollar the rider pays goes directly to you.
Pro drivers set their own per-km rate, per-minute rate, and minimum fare. You decide your worth.
Request a payout anytime from the driver dashboard. Money hits your bank account fast via Stripe.
Earnings
On a $40 fare, traditional platforms keep nearly half. On Fluw, you keep all of it.
45% of the fare disappears before the driver sees a cent.
Earnings Potential
Guaranteed minimum earnings your first 30 days. If you don't hit your target, Fluw covers the difference.
20 hrs/week. Evenings and weekends. Ideal for supplemental income alongside another job.
40 hrs/week. Consistent schedule. Pro drivers with set rates average $4,200–$5,800/month.
Fri–Sun evenings only. Perfect for drivers who want to maximize Friday and Saturday demand.
The App
Set your rate and riders see it alongside every other nearby driver. When one picks you, the request comes straight to you — accept or decline, always your call.
Live map overlay shows where riders are concentrated. Position yourself for back-to-back pickups.
Integrated turn-by-turn routing via Google Maps. Automatic handoff the moment you accept a ride.
Set per-km, per-minute, and minimum fare from your dashboard. Riders see your rates before booking.
Ready to Drive?
Activate your driver account in under 5 minutes. First month of Fluw Pro is on us.
No surge pricing. No hidden fees. See your exact fare before you confirm — set by your driver, not an algorithm. Riders on Fluw consistently pay less than Uber for the same trip.
Why Fluw
Drivers set flat rates. No algorithm spikes your fare at rush hour, in rain, or on a Friday night. What you see is what you pay.
Every nearby driver’s full price for your trip — their rates, the card processing fee and HST — is shown before you choose. No surprise charges at the end.
Every Fluw driver is reviewed and approved before their first ride. Ratings are visible before you book — you know who's picking you up.
How It Works
Fluw flips the model. Instead of an algorithm setting your price, nearby drivers show you their own rate — and you pick the one that's right for you.
Each nearby driver picks their per-km price and goes online. No platform-imposed fare, no surge algorithm.
Request a ride and every nearby driver's rate, ETA, fare and rating appears in one live list — sorted by price.
Tap the checkmark on the driver you want — cheapest, closest, or highest-rated. The choice is always yours.
Pricing
Fluw doesn't take a commission from both sides. Drivers set their rates, you see them upfront, and that's it.
Each driver sets their own rates, so the total is theirs, not ours. You see every driver's price for your trip before you choose.
How It Works
Open the Fluw app, drop your pin, and enter where you're headed. The app shows nearby available drivers instantly.
Your full fare is calculated and shown before you confirm — distance, time, fees, HST, everything. No surprises.
Confirm the ride and get matched with a verified driver. Track them live on the map until they arrive.

Everything you need to know about riding with Fluw.
How It Works
Most apps assign you a driver and decide what the trip costs. Fluw does neither. Drivers set their own rates and pay us a flat subscription, so nobody takes a cut of your fare — and you choose who drives you.
For Riders
Type where you are going. Fluw finds every driver online near you and asks each of them what that journey costs at their rates.
You get a list: name, photo, car, rating, how far away they are and their price for your trip. Cheapest first — but pick on whatever matters to you.
Your chosen driver gets the request and comes to you. Payment goes through Stripe at the end, at the price you agreed before you booked.
For Drivers
$59.99 a month, tax included, and the first month is free. That subscription is the only thing Fluw charges you. Set your per-kilometre rate, your per-minute rate and your minimum fare.
Your price appears alongside every other driver nearby. When a rider picks you, the request comes straight to you — accept or decline, always your call.
No commission, no per-ride cut. The whole fare is yours, paid out through Stripe on your schedule.
The economics
A commission model takes a slice of every fare, which is why the same trip costs more and pays less. We charge drivers one predictable fee instead, and take nothing from the ride itself.

About Fluw
Most rideshare apps were built to extract value from drivers. Fluw is built to return it. We replaced the commission model with a flat subscription — and then we wrote everything else around that single decision.
By the numbers
The founder
Ahmed Abdullah
Founder & CEO
York University · Lassonde School of Engineering · Cyber Security
"Hardworking drivers were building the value of these platforms while the platforms quietly extracted more of their earnings every year. I kept hearing the same story from every driver I rode with — and watching their share of the fare shrink as the algorithm tuned itself for the company's quarterly numbers, not theirs.
The premise is straightforward: the algorithm should serve the driver, not the other way around. Fluw replaces opaque commission structures with a simple subscription model. Drivers know exactly what they pay, set their own rates, and keep everything else.
We are not trying to be another ride platform. We are building the fair and transparent alternative — where drivers control their income, riders see the full picture, and nothing is hidden behind an algorithm optimised for platform revenue."
Ahmed Abdullah · Founder & CEO, Fluw
What we stand for
Every decision we make is measured against these four ideas. If a feature breaks any one of them, we don't ship it.
Riders see exactly what the driver earns. Drivers see exactly what the platform takes. No algorithmic black boxes, no hidden calculations.
Pro subscribers set their own per-km and per-minute rates. No rate card handed down from above. Your vehicle, your labour, your price.
A flat monthly subscription is honest. A dynamic commission algorithm that quietly extracts more every quarter is not. We chose simplicity.
We would rather have 200 drivers earning well and staying long-term than 2,000 drivers burned out and quitting. Loyalty over growth.
The journey
Ahmed, a Cyber Security student at York University, starts mapping the gap between what riders pay and what drivers receive across the major rideshare platforms.
The subscription model is designed from scratch — a flat driver fee instead of commission. Stripe payments and Firebase real-time matching are prototyped end to end.
The rider app, the driver app and the backend are built and working end to end: live driver locations, driver-set rates, a real fare quoted before you book, and payment through Stripe. We are testing on real devices, talking to Toronto drivers about what they actually need, and working through the licensing and insurance requirements that come before a public launch.
A small, closed pilot with a founding group of drivers around York University — once licensing, insurance and driver screening are in place. No date is promised until those are done.
Grow across the GTA, then beyond it — keeping the same model: $0 commission, a flat subscription, driver-set rates, and a fare you see before you agree to it.
Want to know more?
Whether you're a driver wanting to join the pilot, a rider with questions, or a partner exploring something bigger — we read every message.

These terms govern your use of the Fluw app and website, operated by Fluw Rides Inc. (“Fluw”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or booking a ride you agree to them. If you drive on Fluw, the Driver Agreement also applies and takes precedence where the two differ.
Fluw is a technology platform that connects riders with independent drivers. We do not provide transportation. Rides are performed by independent drivers who are not our employees or agents, using their own vehicles.
Drivers set their own rates. When you request a trip you are shown the drivers nearest to you, each with their rates, distance, rating, name, photo and what that driver would charge for your trip, and you choose which driver you want. Fluw does not assign a driver to you or set the price of your ride.
Drivers belong to a vehicle class — Economy, Comfort or XL — and you can filter the list by the class you want. A class is a description of the vehicle, not a price band: each driver within it still sets their own rates.
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. You need an account with accurate information, and you are responsible for what happens under it. One person, one account. Do not share your login or let anyone else ride under your name without telling the driver.
The price you are shown before booking is made up of the fare charged by the driver you selected, a card processing fee of 3.4% of the fare plus $0.31, and applicable tax (13% HST in Ontario). The processing fee covers what the card networks and our payment processor charge on the transaction; Fluw does not keep it as revenue. The fare goes to your driver in full — Fluw takes no commission from it. Payment is handled by Stripe; card details go directly to Stripe and never reach Fluw’s servers.
Booking authorises your card for the fare you accepted — it places a hold, and the money is taken only when the driver you chose accepts the trip. See Cancellations and no-shows below for what happens when nobody accepts.
The price you accept is the price you pay. When you choose a driver we record the exact fare shown for that driver, and the rates it was calculated from, before the trip begins. That recorded amount is what is charged. It is not an estimate and it does not change afterwards. Any range shown to you before you pick a driver is clearly labelled as an estimate and is never the amount charged.
No driver may charge less than the minimum fare set by regulation, currently $3.25 per trip, and short trips are charged at that minimum.
If the trip changes materially — a new destination, extra stops, long waiting time — the final amount may differ, and any difference will be explained to you.
You can cancel a ride before pickup from the app. If a driver has already travelled to collect you, or you are not at the pickup point when they arrive, a cancellation charge may apply.
Booking places a hold, not a charge. When you book, your card is authorised for the fare you accepted — the amount is reserved, but no money moves. It is taken only when the driver you chose accepts the trip.
If that driver declines, does not respond, or you cancel before anyone has accepted, the hold is released and we return you to the list of nearby drivers. Nothing is charged, and there is nothing for you to claim back. Depending on your bank, a released authorisation can take a few days to stop showing as pending on your statement, but no payment was taken. If you then choose a different driver, you are authorised afresh for that driver’s own fare.
If a driver cancels after accepting but before pickup, you are not charged for that trip.
Treat drivers and other users with respect. Do not use Fluw to break the law, carry prohibited items, damage a vehicle, harass anyone, or interfere with the service. Smoking and open alcohol in a driver’s vehicle are not permitted. Drivers may end a trip early where they reasonably believe their safety is at risk.
Riders and drivers rate each other after a trip. Ratings help keep the platform safe and are visible in aggregate; individual ratings are not attributed to the person who gave them. Persistently low ratings or reports of unsafe behaviour may lead to your account being suspended or closed.
Fluw operates in the Greater Toronto Area. We do not guarantee that a driver will be available at any given time or place, that the service will be uninterrupted, or that estimated times and fares will be exact — traffic and routing estimates come from third-party mapping data.
Fluw relies on Stripe for payments, Google Firebase for hosting and accounts, Google Maps for routing, Resend for email and Sentry for error reporting. Your use of the app also involves those providers, and the Privacy Policy explains what each of them handles.
We provide the platform with reasonable care, but we are not responsible for the conduct of any driver or rider, or for what happens during a trip. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under Ontario law. Subject to that, our total liability to you for any claim connected with the service is limited to the amount you paid for the trip the claim relates to.
You can close your account at any time from the app. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that we reasonably believe is being used fraudulently, or where required by law. We will tell you why unless doing so would be unlawful or unsafe.
We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will notify you in the app or by email, and the date at the top of this page will change. Continuing to use Fluw after that means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes will be dealt with by the courts of Ontario. If you are a consumer, this does not remove any protection you have under the law of the place you live.
Questions about these terms can go to support@fluw.ca.

This agreement is between you and Fluw Rides Inc. (“Fluw”, “we”, “us”) and governs your use of Fluw as a driver. The Terms of Service also apply; where the two differ, this agreement governs your driving.
You are not an employee, agent or partner of Fluw. You decide when to go online, which trips to accept, and what to charge. You supply your own vehicle, phone and data. Nothing here creates an employment relationship, and you are not entitled to employee benefits, minimum wage, vacation pay or severance from us. You are free to drive for other platforms at the same time.
You must keep these current and tell us promptly if any of them lapses. We may ask for proof at any time and may suspend your account until it is provided.
Driving on Fluw requires an active subscription of $59.99 per month, tax included, billed monthly in advance through Stripe. That subscription is the whole of what Fluw charges you: there is no commission and no per-ride fee on top of it.
Your first month is free. We collect your card when you subscribe but do not charge it until the free month ends, and you may cancel during that month at no cost — if you do, nothing is ever billed to you. Unless you cancel, the subscription continues at the price above once the free month is over. The free month is available once per driver.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for, and that period is not refunded. If a payment fails, your plan may be downgraded and driver access suspended until it is settled. We will give at least 30 days’ notice before increasing the price.
You set your own rates — a per-kilometre rate, a per-minute rate and a minimum fare. When a rider requests a trip they are shown the drivers nearest to them, each with their rates, distance, rating, name, photo and what that driver would charge for that specific trip, and the rider chooses who they want. Your rates are how you compete.
The rates screen shows what other drivers in your class are charging in your area. That is guidance, not a limit: you are free to price above or below it, and we do not cap what you charge. The one hard rule is the regulated minimum — your minimum fare cannot be set below $3.25, and the app will hold it at that floor.
Your rates apply to trips booked after you save them. A fare a rider has already accepted does not change, whatever you do to your rates afterwards.
You keep 100% of your fare. Fluw takes no commission and no per-ride cut from what you charge; the subscription above is what you pay us. Riders are separately charged a card processing fee and applicable tax on top of your fare, neither of which comes out of your earnings.
The rider’s card is authorised when they book, and the money is taken at the moment you accept the trip — accepting is what turns their hold into a payment. If you decline, or let the request time out, nothing is charged to them and nothing is owed to you.
Payments are collected from the rider by Stripe and paid to you through your Stripe Express account, on Stripe’s payout schedule. Stripe’s own processing fees and their terms apply to that account. You are responsible for keeping your payout details accurate.
You are responsible for your own taxes. Fluw does not withhold income tax, CPP or EI from your earnings. In Canada, drivers providing ride-share services are generally required to register for and remit HST regardless of income level — this is your obligation, not ours, and you should confirm your position with an accountant or the CRA.
Provide rides safely, lawfully and courteously. Do not drive while impaired or unfit, use the app in a way that distracts you from driving, discriminate against riders, carry additional passengers who are not part of the booking, or ask riders to pay outside the app. Follow all traffic and vehicle-for-hire laws that apply where you drive.
Report any accident, injury, or serious incident involving a rider to us as soon as you safely can, and to the police and your insurer where required.
Riders rate you after each trip and you rate them; both ratings are averages and neither shows who gave them. We may suspend or deactivate your account for a persistently low rating, credible safety reports, fraud, misrepresenting your identity, vehicle or vehicle class, or breaching this agreement or the law. Where it is safe and lawful to do so we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond. Deactivation does not refund a subscription period already paid.
To make a trip work we share your first name, profile photo, vehicle description and licence plate with the rider you are matched to, and your live location with them while you are on the way. Riders are shown your rating in aggregate, and your vehicle class and rates while you are online so they can choose between drivers. Your location is shared only while you are online or on a trip; it is removed when you go offline, close the app or lose connection. The Privacy Policy covers the rest.
You are responsible for your driving, your vehicle and your compliance with the law, and for any claim arising from them. Fluw provides a platform to connect you with riders; we do not control how you drive and we do not provide insurance for you. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under Ontario law. Subject to that, our total liability to you for any claim connected with the platform is limited to the subscription fees you paid us in the three months before the claim arose.
You can stop driving and close your account at any time. Either of us may end this agreement on notice. Sections that by their nature should survive — payment obligations, taxes, liability and governing law — continue to apply afterwards.
We may update this agreement. If a change is significant, including any change to the subscription price or to the regulated minimum fare, we will notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to drive after that means you accept the updated agreement.
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and disputes will be dealt with by the courts of Ontario.
Questions about this agreement can go to support@fluw.ca.

Fluw Rides Inc. (“Fluw”, “we”, “us”) operates the Fluw rideshare app and this website. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to riders, drivers and visitors to fluw.ca.
Account information. When you create an account we collect your name, email address and phone number. Drivers additionally provide a date of birth, vehicle details and vehicle class, the rates they choose to charge, licence information and the documents required to verify eligibility to drive.
Location information. To match rides we collect pickup and destination addresses and their coordinates. While a driver is online, the app publishes their current position so nearby riders can see them and choose between drivers, and so we can estimate arrival times. During a trip the driver’s position is streamed to that rider so they can watch the car approach.
A driver’s live position is held only while it is current. It is replaced as they move, and removed as soon as they go offline, close the app or lose connection — we do not keep a history of where a driver has been. Trip position is kept only for the duration of the trip. Riders’ approximate pickup locations are used, in aggregated and anonymised form, to show drivers where demand is concentrated.
Trip information. We keep a record of completed trips, including pickup and destination, distance, duration, fare and the driver involved.
The fare you agreed. When a rider chooses a driver we record the exact fare shown, the time it was accepted, and the driver’s rates at that moment. We keep this because regulation requires us to be able to show that a rider accepted a specific price before the trip began, and because it is the record we use to resolve any dispute about what was charged.
Payment information. Card payments are processed by Stripe. Card numbers are entered directly into Stripe and never reach Fluw’s servers. We store the Stripe identifiers needed to take payment, pay drivers out and support your account, together with a reference to the authorisation placed when you book and whether it was taken or released. We keep that so we can show what was charged, what was not, and when — which is what any question about a payment turns on.
Profile photos. If you upload a profile picture we store it, along with a smaller version generated automatically for use in the app.
Technical and diagnostic information. To keep the service working we collect device and browser information, IP address, and error diagnostics when something goes wrong.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Before a rider chooses, they see each nearby driver’s first name, photo, rating, vehicle class, rates and current distance. A driver browsing open requests sees the pickup area and the fare, but not who the rider is — the rider’s name and photo are revealed to that driver only when they accept the trip.
Once matched, the driver and rider see each other’s first name, profile photo and the information needed to complete the trip, such as the pickup point and, for the driver, the destination. Riders can see the driver’s vehicle details, licence plate and rating. Neither party sees the other’s email address, phone number or payment details.
We rely on a small number of processors, each handling only what their function requires:
These providers may process and store information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under the laws of those countries.
This site does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We use browser storage for things the site cannot work without — chiefly keeping you signed in between visits and remembering preferences. Stripe sets its own cookies on payment pages for fraud prevention. Clearing site data in your browser removes anything we have stored, and will sign you out.
Account information is kept while your account is open. Trip and payment records are retained after that where we are required to keep them for tax, accounting and legal purposes. Email verification codes expire within minutes. Diagnostic data is kept for a short period and then discarded.
You can view and correct your account details in the app or on this site at any time. You can delete your account from the app, which removes your profile, driver record and any pending application; records we are legally required to retain are kept for the required period and then deleted. Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) you may also request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask for corrections, or ask us to delete it. Location sharing can be turned off in your device settings, though the app cannot match rides without it.
Fluw is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will notify you in the app or by email.
Questions about privacy, or a request about your data, can go to support@fluw.ca.
